How scoring works
Your score is computed on the server by replaying every choice you made against the day's scenario. The browser never sees the answer key and never writes a score. Scoring version 1.
The formula
BOOKING SCORE (0-100) = OUTCOME (0-40) + CRAFT (0-30) + BOSS (0-20) + DISCIPLINE (0-10)
- Craft = round(30 × min(1, your craft ÷ par craft)). Every draft and action carries a craft value from 0 to 3; par is the best total on any path to a booked outcome, so a longer path is never penalised.
- Boss = your boss-round rubric total (0-10) × 2.
- Discipline = the meter at the end of the run, starting at 10. It drops for touches beyond par, spam phrases, a new thread, the spam cliff, traps and pushing after a no.
- Ties break on total, then outcome, then fewer touches, then fewer calendar days, then the earlier submit.
- No difficulty multipliers, no tier locks. Within a day every ranked player gets the same prospect and the same seed.
The outcome ladder
| Outcome | Points | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| BOOKED | 40 | A meeting with the decision maker, on the calendar. |
| WIN_ALT | 40 | An alternative win the scenario defines: a clean referral, or a qualified-out with the door left open. |
| BOOKED_THIN | 28 | A meeting, but thin: hedged, with the wrong person, or on the prospect's terms only. |
| PARKED | 24 | A dated park the prospect agreed to. Not lost; not booked. |
| GHOSTED | 10 | The prospect went quiet for good, or the calendar ran out. |
| BURNED | 0 | A one-sentence rejection. The thread is over and so is the account. |
The boss rubric
Five criteria, each 0, 1 or 2. Two are decided by code before any model call; three are model-judged with the model, prompt and rubric version pinned per judgment at temperature 0. With judging off, the round offers four authored drafts instead and scores them the same way.
Relevance model
Does the reply address what the prospect actually said, including the day's specific detail? A reply that adds nothing new scores 0.
Honesty and respect model
No claimed relationship, no invented urgency, no vendor praise; a prospect's no is respected.
Ask model
One clear, proportionate next step. Two asks or none scores lower.
Brevity code
A word band per boss type (below). Short is fine.
Clean code
2 by default; 1 for one banned phrase or one bare multiplier or percentage while cold; 0 for two or more, or any ALL-CAPS word.
Brevity bands (2 points inside the band)
- opener: up to 80 words
- follow-up: 40-140 words
- ea: up to 100 words
- reply-all: up to 100 words
Phrases that cost a Clean point
“just checking in”, “just following up”, “bumping this”, “circle back”, “hope this finds you well”; also a bare multiplier or percentage while the prospect is cold, and any ALL-CAPS word.
Band: 0-3 cool, 4-7 neutral, 8-10 warm. The band picks the prospect's next authored reply; it never ends the run by itself. Claiming a relationship you do not have in front of an assistant ends the run as BURNED.
The One Shot rule
Your first run of the day that reaches turn three is your ranked run, keyed on your account or, before you claim, on a signed cookie set on first visit. Leaving before turn three is forgiven once per day; leaving after it submits the run as GHOSTED when the 20-minute token expires. Practice runs open only after the ranked attempt is used or forgiven, are capped per device per day, and never appear on a board. Claiming promotes at most one ranked run per day, and only a run played from the claiming device.
Residual: someone determined enough to rotate devices and networks can still play twice. Every night a random 2% of submitted runs is replayed from the event log; a stored score the replay does not reproduce is voided and its share card revoked.
The published seed
Each day's scenario version and seed hash are published in the daily seed table the moment the day starts (04:00 UTC), so anyone can verify that every ranked player faced the same prospect moods and the same draft order. The seed picks which authored beat plays and shuffles the drafts; it never changes what a draft is worth.
